Yogas chitta vritti nirodha

Through yoga, we can calm the mind.

-Yoga Sutras of Patanjali

Yoga is the actions we take in order to find peace. It is through the truths of yoga that a higher version of ourselves is revealed to us. Once we've glimpsed that self, we can then return to that self through regular practice.

Aaron began his yoga journey in 2013. With a background in athletics and competitive sports, Aaron took his skills as a coach and athlete to the mat in order to bring yoga to as many populations as possible. Aaron works to teach that all people are able to find a relationship with their body and mind.

Aaron is RYT500 certified with Yoga Alliance through the Kunga Yoga School, currently teaches yoga teacher trainings as a faculty member of the Kunga Yoga School, and teaches two 200 hour yoga teacher trainings each year. Along with being a yoga educator, Aaron teaches corporate events, collegiate groups, as well as public and private classes, both online and in person.

As a public school teacher, Aaron strives to bring movement and mindfulness into his classroom. He has worked with young people since 2011, and he sees teaching youth to be confident, capable members of their community is the surest path to establishing the good life for all. With yoga, Aaron encourages mindful breathing, communication, and regular breaks for movement during instruction.

Before yoga, Aaron's primary focus was long-distance running. Yoga soon gave Aaron the same mental clarity that he had always valued in long distance running, except without the aches and pains. Being a runner, Aaron knows well the demands that athletes put on their bodies. Yoga created the balanced approach to athletics that Aaron now encourages his students to integrate.

As a practitioner, Aaron enjoys hot vinyasa classes. The power and heat are things that his pitta nature thrives in. As a teacher, Aaron draws heavily on the idea that we all have untapped power and potential in ourselves and that through yoga, we can push our edges and expand our sphere of competence and confidence.

Aaron lives in the rural surroundings of Blacksburg, Va with his wife and two dogs.
