Free Speech in Education | Aaron Wayne Podcast EP42
Free speech in schools isn't simple. Teachers live in the gray. Aaron talks about where the line is.
Teachers are using their voices to speak out against liberal and conservative ideas. In this episode, Aaron plays two videos of Virginian teachers speaking publicly and the backlash they faced for doing so. One teacher claims educational systems are reinforcing white supremacy. One teacher claims trans and non-binary students are suffering from gender dysphoria. This podcast isn't an endorsement of either idea but rather, an exploration of a larger idea; do teachers have free speech? And if not, what are the limits of their speech?
